Blog Stage 3

On March 27th, 2017 Ignoring Diplomacy Past and its Future Promise was published by The Editorial Board to the New York Times. The article focuses on the amount of money president Donald Trump is cutting from programs such as foreign aid and moving that money towards the budget of the Pentagon. The author argues that tax dollars should be spent more wisely, instead of cutting down budgets the president should be urging Congress to increase the budget of important subjects such as foreign affairs. The authors main arguments were backed up by factual evidence, that being the amount of money Trump slashed or added to things such as military spending. The author made it clear of the disapproval regarding the budget cutting from President Trump, therefore the target audience was made mainly for democrats. I agree with the authors, the Editorial Board is composed of sixteen expertise journalist all of which help to compose this editorial. I believe that if Trump keeps slashing the budget of foreign affairs it may result in wars, or the damage of alliances.
